Had a great trip on the Cape May Whale Watcher. We saw tons of dolphins, the weather was great and the ship captain was very informative. Plenty of space to choose your favorite seat. We sat up top and had a nice view, next time I think I'll sit on the bottom for closer pictures. They have complimentary juice, coffee and donuts plus alcoholic beverages and other snacks to purchase. Friendly staff members were available to answer questions. Parking is a bit weird because you're stacked into the parking lot pretty tight but it didn't take long to leave. Can't wait to come back in the fall the look for whales and other migrating animals.

We had a great time on the 3 hour cruise (an irony not lost on a few passengers, and no the mate's name was not Gilligan!). We saw plenty of dolphins (70+) as well as a bald eagle! No whales, but apparently they prefer calmer seas than we experienced. View from the main deck in the front of the boat is spectacular BUT you WILL get wet and may get SOAKED - head to toe soaked to the skin - as the water comes up through the open decking! Very refreshing on a sweltering day, as was the breeze, but not as welcome if you are are not dressed for it or are carrying camera/cell phone. Also indoor air conditioned seating, (limits view IMHO), seating along sides of boat (view on one side only - cabin in middle) and on upper deck (very open views) . Rest rooms on board. Crew was well informed and helpful to passengers as we hit rougher waters. Food and drink sold on board, but you can bring your own beverages (non alcoholic only - they check coolers). Narrative of sights we were passing on the shore and location of dolphins was excellent as well as some very interesting facts about the dolphins and whales and Cape May. It was interesting to see much of what we saw during our travels on land from "the other side". Free parking. Be aware it is "stack parking", but the crew does a good job getting you out of there fairly quickly. Get there a little earlier than they recommend to insure you get the seat location you prefer. Boarding begins about 20 minutes before departure, but you will wait until posted departure time to leave. They have binoculars for rent, but either bring you own or skip it - were not needed to see any of the creatures sighted by the crew. Good value - would have been a nice relaxing ride even if we did not see dolphins!

After visiting Cape May for the past 4 summers we decided to be "extra touristy" and take one of the Dolphin Watching cruises. We were pleasantly surprised. It was a great cruise. The Captain was very informative. It was a great way to see Cape May from a perspective that we've never seen before. We even saw some Dolphins (wasn't our primary reason for the cruise as we see them every day from the beach) which was nice since it was a Dolphin watching cruise. The captain timed it perfectly as we came around Cape May point and adjacent to Sunset Beach right when the sun was setting. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable cruise and 2 hours was the perfect amount of time. (And as a bonus everyone got a slice of pizza or a hot dog, watch out for the long lines as everyone seemed to be ordering mixed drinks which took a while to make when grabbing their pizza). My only critique is that the captain kept saying right and left instead of port and starboard. I'm sure that was because its easier than explaining port and starboard but as a retired naval officer it drove me a little crazy. Overall a great experience.
