We took a three hour trip to look for whales & dolphins. We didn't see any whales but saw numerous pods of dolphins during the trip. It was a great experience and you can rent binoculars if you don't have to see the Dolphins or whales. The Captain & Crew were very good and helpful in the cruise. You can purchase snacks & beverages too on the boat. This is a real nice trip for families!

My husband and I had a great time on a three hour cruise (the 1 PM departure). We bought out tickets online the day before, buy one ticket get one half off ($60 total for the two of us). When we got to the dock, we found a free parking lot with attendants who work for the whale watch ships. There was a huge mob lined up to board the ship and we were worried it would feel crowded but it really wasn't that bad. The ship holds several hundred people. The captain did a wonderful job explaining many interesting things - the scenery and geography, the salt marshes, the ocean life, the history of landmark sites we passed. At times groups of people were loudly talking and laughing, though, so it was hard to always hear the captain. That's the one downside of such a large number of people on the ship - more noise. I was very interested in the narration but some people were not paying any attention to what the captain was sharing with us. The best part - DOLPHINS! We saw many, many dolphins. The boat idled when we were in the midst of many frolicking dolphins and rotated the ship every so slowly so that every passenger had various views of the water. The dolphins were so beautiful. They are always in motion and they just popped up and went back under the water again and again, in many directions. I would say we saw at least 50 dolphins....some big, some small, all exciting to see! We did not see any whales on our cruise. That was a bummer but because we saw so many dolphins, I was pleased. When I took whale watch trips in Maine, we saw numerous whales but no dolphins. I guess one can't have it all!! It was wonderful be off of the sweltering land and on the breezy water. The ship sells concessions and I saw many people eating pizza, though I cannot attest to the cost or quality of the food. I also noticed they also sell beer - not something I would want to drink aboard a rocking ship but hey, to each his own! As long as you don't vomit, be my guest! LOL There is a dinky little gift shop that you can visit before or after the cruise. It didn't look to me to be anything special but there were many reduced priced items. I recommend it and would do it again if back in Cape May!

This was our first time taking a Dolphin cruise and we were in for a treat. We got to see over 50 dolphins during the cruise and ended up with some amazing photos. But what really impressed us was the captain and crew. The crew were all very professional and the captain was not only very skilled and knowledgeable when it came to dolphins, but also stressed the importance of seeing dolphins in their natural habitat verses captivity. He did this in a completely professional way and he also taught a lot about the history around Cape May. If you don't mind getting wet, stand at the bow when he takes it out into the open water. My only complaint is the parking lot attendants are in such a rush to get departures out and arrivals in that they were a little jerkish, but only a little.
