We have always seen the Cape May Whale Watcher boats out to sea. Went on a 2 hour dolphin watching tour. You get great views of Cape May from all sides. Interesting facts about the area and it's history. Of course spotting a pod of dolphins is the main reason. Amazing to see these beautiful sea creatures up close. Even better when they have a calf in the pod that's breaching! Opportunity that I would definitely recommend if you can put it in your stay.

We had a ticket for Dolphin watch but reaching there we decided to upgrade it to Dolphin and whale watch but that that was the mistake. The tour started late but had ample space to sit so in that respect I agree that operators are not money minded and did not overbook. When it comes to Dolphin watching, it started spotting as soon as we reached the beach area. We had seen those dolphins from the beach as well. No doubt there were ample of dolphins spotting for everyone to see but we could not get a close view as we were in a big ship and dolphins do not stay too close to those ships. Then started the quest for whale watch but in vain. We have done this trip from Glouchester and must say that these people lack the ability to track the whales. As it is this is not the season for spotting whales in cape may as the water seems to be too hot for them to stay here. I feel they should not do the whale watching trips and extract money from people. Now lets talk about the food. I had never had such pathetic Pizza ever in my life. I had to throw it away in spite of the fact that we spent too much on that slice. Please carry your own food. They do offer a pair of binoculars but at a charge of $5 each which again is too much to ask for when the tickets are $40 per ticket for a 3 hour trip.

Having wanting to visit cape may for the 1st time in 55 years we wanted to see if anything was left from what we remembered from the early 60's, unfortunately the summer house my family rented had disappeared ( now with beach front homes on open space ) but the true pleasure of the trip was the whale watch with offers quite good buffet dinner if you are so inclined, the menu was varied as well as others who just wanted to see either dolphins or whales ( only dolphins were found on our cruise, the ship is well maintained however I wouldn't suggest young children come onboard because some passengers get a bit upset with their yelling & screaming . If this does happen they do have a full bar onboard to help you deaden the noise, while a bit pricey it is well worth the $
