It was a good boat ride, we saw a whole bunch of dolphins but the whales were no where to be found. It was a bummer because we were interested in seeing the whales more that the dolphins. I didn't like the fact that eventhough we booked and paid online we still had to wait in the same long line as the people who are buying at the window to get our tickets, they need to upgrade to printable vouchers. This is the second time going on this trip, we thought if we go a different time of the year we can see some whales, but no luck. Honestly, I think it's rare for them to find whales and doesn't happen much if not at all. If that's the case, they should change the name to "Cape May Dolphin Watcher" because that's all it is. We wouldn't bother doing it again.

We refer to this as "Cape May No-Whales Watcher" but all 4 times we've done it, we've seen lots of dolphins. Only once have we seen whales and that was in September. It's a great boat trip anyway and the Captain is entertaining. Bring your own food though - prices are outrageous and there's nothing healthy to eat on board - just chips, pizza, candy & beer.

My boyfriend and I spur-of-the-moment decided on the Sunset Dolphin Cruise during our visit to Cape May on Memorial Day. My mom and sisters did a similar dolphin cruise in FL the previous year, so we though this would be fun! We made our reservation online a few hours before, it was a very good buy one get one half off deal, we arrived early and got checked in with our online reservation with no problem. Very smooth process. We were a little late leaving the dock, but only by about 5 or 10 minutes. There was complimentary food, but we had to pay for beverages. We didn't see a ton of dolphins on our cruise, but we did see a few. A few came really close, and looking over the side in the front, we saw a few swim right underneath of us! It was pretty exciting! Like I said, there weren't a ton, but it was a lot of fun! Not to mention, the sunset was SO beautiful! I was a little scared for my life for a good 10 minutes or so, not being from around water, the waves and rocking of the boat was terrifying, haha! Once I got to the lower deck though, I was fine. But in the beginning, I thought I was going to die. Haha! The guys working were extremely nice and professional! They were very good tour guides and we learned a lot about the areas we were around and about dolphins. They didn't go over any safety features though, which I wish they had in case of an emergency. There were many children on board, anything can happen! My boyfriend and I had to scope out where the life vests were just in case! I think that would be a very good thing to incorporate into the cruise in the future, just a little 3 minute just in case talk before the boat sets out. Other than that little safety issue, my boyfriend I both had a wonderful time! I would definitely recommend it, and if I ever go back to Cape May, I'd probably do it again!
