Looked for a whale watching boat to take my family that was coming from out of state. I must be missing something because the pricing is, just wow. I actually didn’t purchase from this listing because I wasn’t exactly sure how many of the family members wanted to go and I didn’t want to buy unnecessary tickets and not be able to get a refund. I bought tickets directly from the business they say they are agents for, RB whales located in Redondo Beach/King Harbor. This listing has tickets at $60 per person but directly from the boat I was able to purchase the tickets we needed at $40 for the adults and $30 for the kids. I’m really curious as to why this company is selling tickets for more than the actual ticket price? Is TripAdvisor aware? Besides this odd ticket pricing from this listing, we really enjoyed the whale watch trip. Great crew that works hard to try and find the whales. Sometimes they just don’t want to be seen. It was on the slower side, but we did manage at the end to find a pod of whales.

Thank you for your review. Yes, Groupon and Viator do charge approximately 30% to us for marekting and advertising this product which we promote as a Local Tour and Travel Agency. These are typical service and handling fees as our staff reviews every reservation and contacts each client personally to ensure clients are prepared, now where to find the boat, have proper attire and recieve parking instructions and boarding information.

Overall it was okay. The boat and crew seemed nice. Having the Naturalists on board to talk about the different types of whales we might see was very informative. We have two sightings where the whales just barely broke the surface. Nonetheless, it was nice to see them move about freely instead of in a tank. I will say that this cruise is NOT for children under about ten. The two couples on-board were holding their kids (2 to 3 yrs old) very close to the edge. Had they lost their grip and the child slipped out - in the 2 to 5 foot seas we were in, i don't think we could have recovered them. The other shameful thing to see was all the Mylar balloons (10) floating on the surface along with numerous plastic bags.

We all loved this trip . Unfortunately we didn’t see any whales but saw 300 dolphins and loads of other sea life. The staff are informative and we all learned about sharks , dolphins, sea lions and whales! We would definitely do this again!
