Firstly, they give great directions to the pick up point. Take the free shuttle from the Cruise ship to port area and you will find your shuttle bus there. Look for Klondike Tours bus. We had driver Joe. He was very knowledgeable and funny. He told stories the entire time and it was very entertaining. He took us through the town and told us about all the sights. Next we drove out to the Cemetery, were we got out and walked through and up to the waterfall. Beautiful. (a little strenuous, but can be done.) Joe even stopped for us to see a Mountain Goat and her kid on the side of the mountain. Next we drove up to the pass, stopping at the Alaska sign and other pull offs along the way. We got to see the train going by and lots of beautiful scenery. Joe took pictures for everyone at the sign. At the end of the tour, you have the option of going back to the cruise port or Joe will let you off downtown, so you can explore on your own. It was a great experience and I would recommend to anyone.

Great driver obviously enjoys sharing his knowledge of Skagway and White pass history.Alec gave very good information about the trees and plants in the area

The driver had his talk well memorized. We saw a black bear crossing the road, and at the cemetery were invited to walk up to Reid Falls - which was beautiful (would consider it a moderate climb - tree roots and rocks). Some of the views on the tour were obscured by the low clouds, but overall it was a great experience. Appreciated most of all was the nature education informing about the different plants and berries, and trees. Not sure if that was provided as education by our driver on his own or is a part of the tour.
