This is a Bucketlist experience!!!!
Hands down! One of the most phenomenal experiences I've had in my life. That's saying something because my whole life I have sought out adventure and new experiences from all over the world.
Being an adventurer and thrill seeker I sought out to have a truly unique experience while I am visiting my family in Alabama and I found it!!!!
I contacted Wes first before I booked because I was worried about my curves. I'm 230 pounds and top heavy. My biggest worry was getting stuck. I have been turned down for caving before particularly in Belize because I was not the right proportions. He reassured me I would be okay and said he has had a 350 pound man cave with him. So I definitely felt comfortable .
You start out meeting him on his private property. You gear up, elbow pads, knee pads, gloves on top of your thick caving clothes and then you are off!
You enter his private cave and right away you realize as he looks like a kid who entered a candy store that this is going to be very special.
Immediately you are whisked away to look at the cave salamders, the unique formations, the writing on the cave walls, learn about the history, it goes on and on.
This cave has waterfalls, creatures, little rivers, amazing tunnels, unique plant life. Wes goes into detail on everything and anything. The gleam in his eyes is infectious and his conversation is interwoven with boyish wonder.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any better it does. The true wild adventure starts. You push your body and your fears. You squeeze into small tunnels on your belly, on your hands and knees, feeling an incredible sense of pride and accomplishment and wonder that you did it.
He always gives you the option to back out. You don't have to do sections of the wild wild part but I highly suggest you do!
I was blown away at all the life that existed there. We saw bats, special crustaceans, cave Salamanders, his resident pack rat, we saw so much.
The formations are amazing. The stalactites, stalagmites, cave bacon, etc. So many wonders for the eye to see.
Do it, Do it, Do it !!!!!!
Thank you Wes for an unforgettable day!
