All of it was awesome. Very attention to detail so much info and made me want to watch the race in March!

This tour is a wonderful way to spend a few hours before boarding the Alaska Railroad back to Anchorage from Seward. Our tour bus guide drove our group of 14 to the Seavy Dog Sled location where we were introduced to the sled dogs and then a chance to hold and pet the one month old and three month old puppies. Everyone was given a demonstration of how the sled dogs are trained for the Ididarod and other races. The fun comes when groups of nine are able to board a wheeled sled pulled by a team of Alaskan huskies for a ride through the forest. I was able to co-mush with Lora our dog guide. It was so much fun!!! After leaving the dogs we were driven to Seward for a nice lunch in Seward at the Sea Salt restaurant. Our driver guide then took us to a salmon weir to observe the fish making a leap to go upstream. We topped off our day with an optional one mile round trip hike to view the Exit Glacier. The tour lasted from 11 am until 5 pm and we enjoyed every minute!

Overall, the tour experience was great and was very informative. Only thing that soured our visit was the rain, I'm sorry, but it is impossible to completely enjoy yourself when you're soaking wet. We made our reservations several months in advance and they call your name by order of reservation, so they called our name first for the sled ride and we were able to sit in front and have a great view. We were also fortunate that our dog team was led by the record setting lead dog, Rudder, so that was an extra treat. The ride was most enjoyable although a bit short. They said the conditions, low 50's, were actually TOO hot for the dogs as they are used to running in -20 below. Following the ride they showed us the actual sleds used in the race and how they outfitted the dogs. We were also able to see all the trophies they had won. Then, we got to pet and hold puppies that will one day be in the race. Overall, a great tour, guides answered all questions and gave an informative narration. Just would have been perfect if it hadn't been raining.
