We did the Wilderness Wave with Chance in the morning. He was more than awesome! We were given the choices of paddling with him or just sit back and enjoy the ride. Having done white water rafting before, we opted to enjoyed the 11 milesā scenery ride. Chance was very attentive to all of us. Telling us everything we need to know about the history of Denali and the Nenana River. He made sure we were all engaged in the activity even when we werenāt paddling. They are a fairly new company but with the experience I had with them, I wouldnāt know. This was definitely the highlight of our trip!

River rafting has been a bucket list item. Another operator cancelled our rafting excursion and we booked last minute with New Wave Adventures. They give you a wet suit that includes rubber footies that you put on like a babyās onesie, then you slip on shoes they give you. After a bus ride to the drop off point, they check everyoneās life preservers and give a short safety talk. Our guide was very experienced and we felt safe the entire time, despite the river being pretty frothy due to snow melt. Highly recommend.
