What To Expect
1
Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building
Experience the many ghosts of this old colonial town that are still seen today. Learn of the hangings of Blackbeard's crew and what happened to Blackbeard's skull. Did our forefathers really drink from his skull? Stand right where Grace Sherwood, the most famous witch, is often seen during mock trials in the Capitol and hear of her fate, finally pardoned by Gov. Tim Kean after centuries of being called the Witch of Pungo. Learn of Anne Bonny and Mary Reed (a woman posing as Mark Reed) who were aboard Calico Jack's ship and fought like men. Top it all off by going to the Jones Graveyard, where Ida Jones still haunts the graves today, in the late-night hours.

This tour was perfect for our group. We had already done a Colonial Williamsburg ghost tour a couple years before that was fun, but more sensational. This tour is what it claims to be - tales based on actual accounts, as well as interesting information on witches and pirates that intersect with Colonial Williamsburg (I enjoy piratical history and yet wasn't aware of CW's history with pirates). We still hit the more memorable ghost stories of CW, but the history and color were overall more interesting. I would say it differentiates itself from other ghost tours by being part ghost, part history. This won't scare you by any means, so pick your ghost tour accordingly. The costumes and couple moments of acting were a nice additional touch.

We enjoyed very much this night out at Colonial Williamsburg. The tour was really enjoyable. The characters being dressed up and interacting with the crowd really added to all the stories being told. I would highly recommend this for a good night out with family and friends.
