Having never been to Williamsburg before this was a great introduction to the area and its restaurants. Our guide Lance was great! He totally entertained us with his knowledge of the town and his genuine interest in our experience was wonderful. We sampled a number of different restaurants and felt as if we were with family in a foreign city. Once finished...we went back to a few of the places we visited and felt as if we had lived in Williamsburg and were locals. The staff at one place remembered us from the tour and treated us like royality. It's a great way to get familiar with the area and focus in on where and what you want to do. And our guide made this experience one we won't forget. Such a nice way to get an intimate introduction to such an historic and beautiful town. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Williamsburg!

I have done food tours in NYC and Washington D.C. and this was by far the best I have been on yet. I have a private chef business and I am always looking for good regional foodie opportunities and this did not disappoint. I had a breakfast bar in the morning, started the tour at 2:00 and was completely stuffed by the last stop (and yes i like to eat). The vairety was excellent (sushi, Thai, traditional bar food -yum, upscale appetizers and a local favorite the "Holly" sandwich.) I also enjoyed the fact that each place was a privately owned establishment. Lance, our guide, was very informed about the area. We were on a tour with another group visiting the area. It was a very casual relaxed atmosphere. Lance was great at accomodating special requests. I highly recommend this tour. It is a great opportuntiy to taste some area restaraunts as well as being an amazing value. Seriously, who can sample five different restaraunts with excellent food, be more than full on less that fifty bucks ?!!

My wife and I decided to try the New Town tour while we were on vacation in March 2012 and it turned out we were the only couple to sign up...so it was just us and Lance. He was knowledgeable (although there's not much to learn about a shopping center that is struggling to keep tenants) and nice...but it would've been better if there had been other couples present. I recommend that u check to see if you're the only ones going before u sign up.

Dear Michael, I am happy that you had fun. You were both a pleasure to have on the tour. I just added a FAQ post to our website that says that we can move a tour to a date that has more people by request. If future customers reading this want to try and do a tour with more people, we will accommodate them if possible. Your satisfaction is most important to us, and our customers make a difference with us and our tours. We will continue to improve the tour based on valued customer recommendations. We want you to be happy and want to accomodate you, and frankly larger groups work best for us too! Thanks for the review and thanks for attending the New Town Night Life Tour. If you asked to attend a larger group, we would have been happy to accommodate you. We have had many couples attend a tour for anniversaries, a date night, and other occasions that enjoy receiving their own private tour at a great rate. Some people even request a small tour size. I totally agree with you that It would have been nice to have more people on the tour, although I did not find it awkward. All of our tour guides, myself included, love meeting new people and think that it is always more fun with more people. I'm sorry that you were not comfortable in the small social setting. I take full responsibility -- maybe we should have bought you a few more drinks! I do think that I went above the call of duty to purchase a large fondue arrangement for you and your wife, which was on me and not part of the tour, so I am surprised that this did not improve your experience (or result in a tip for the entire tour). Did enjoy the conversations we had, and was happy to give your wife valuable consulting advice on internet marketing strategies for her business, and was happy to answer the phone call the next evening regarding recommendations on where to eat. I think that these three factors would be fair to mention to others in any review regarding the tour. Not many tours or services will go the extra mile like this, and we really try. Customer satisfaction is more important to me as the owner than short term profit, and the actions above reflect that. I train all of our tour guides to have the same focus on customers and their food tour experience. I did the best I could and will continue to improve the tour. If you would like to do a historic tour in the future I would be happy to try and place you with a larger group, but you will have to do the tour on their schedule, versus whenever you want.
