Overview

Private Winter Scenic Driving Tours focus on the western areas of Glacier National Park that are open in fall and winter. We make stops in and around Glacier National Park. Your guide will discuss the history of the park, glaciation, and other topics your private group is interested in.

Our stops include: the Hungry Horse Dam & Reservoir, Belton Bridge, Lake McDonald Lodge, Lake McDonald at Apgar Village and to round out the tour, ask your guide to stop at the Huckleberry Patch for a homemade milkshake or Glacier Park souvenir. We love our tours because they're custom, not combined with others and flexible to accommodate your group.

What To Expect

Hungry Horse Reservoir

Our first stop is the Hungry Horse Dam & Reservoir where guests will learn about town history. Guests will learn about the reservoir and the Forest Service land that surrounds the dam.

Belton Bridge

Our next stop is the Belton Bridge in West Glacier. Guests will learn about the flood of 1964, the history of Belton in Glacier, and enjoy sights of the Middle Fork River.

Glacier National Park

Guests will stop at Apgar Village and/or Visitors center (depending on operating hours) and learn about Glacier, Lake McDonald, etc.

Lake Mc Donald

We will drive along the lake on the Going-to-the-Sun road to Lake McDonald lodge.

Our 1st trip to Whitefish, MT & we were thrilled with this private guided tour! Brandon was so knowledgeable, funny and did a great job of showing us the area!! We got to see Columbia Falls, Hungry Horse, Glacier National Park, the Huckleberry Patch store and a few more spots. As two Houstonians with no real experience with traveling in the snow and heading out to our first snow-filled winter getaway, we decided to book this tour so we could get some sights in without any added stress. What an unforgettable experience! Our tour guide, Larry, greeted us warmly and right on time, and from there, he absolutely made our day! His knowledge and love of Flathead Valley, its flora, and wildlife made the tour that much more enjoyable! We 1000% recommend this tour and cannot wait to come back in the summer for their Bison Tour!

The fav part of our experience was our tour guide Phil who was an absolute hoot and super knowledgeable about the area. We had a lovely day touring with him. Whitefish Outfitters are a great company.
