Wynwood Street Art Tour

Overview
Explore the Wynwood Art District (a section of Miami) on this guided, 1 hour 15 min walking tour. Wynwood is home to art galleries, retail stores, eclectic bars, unique restaurants, and one of the largest open-air "museums" in the world. Picture a neighborhood whose every wall is covered in murals of all kinds: funny, beautiful, provocative, political, cartoon-like, realistic, surreal, and silly. A guide will accompany you on this tour to tell you about the history of this once-neglected area and the ongoing changes here. You will learn about the difference between graffiti and murals, about individual works of art, techniques, artists, and much more. Your appreciation for art, murals, and the Wynwood Art District will be deepened by the experience.

Our guide Ivory was great and very informative. We covered a large area and he walked us through all the key pieces while explaining about them and the artists. The area has an interesting history that he brought to life through his narration. He was willing to take pictures and allowing us to take our time doing so without rushing. Bring some sunblock if youā€™re going this summer and just enjoy!

I didnā€™t really have any expectations going into this, and was honestly blown away. These graffitied walls are not only spectacular and highly skilled artistry- wise, Ivory also explained the ā€˜politicsā€™ behind others tagging over the pieces- or not, out of respect for certain established artists. The meeting point, a cafe/classic car/ guitar/ music store alone is worth coming to early, itā€™s big and cool and beautiful to sit in and serves good coffee. I cannot recommend this tour more, Ivory is a great guide- informative and funny and clearly loves explaining these ever evolving pieces of art. I canā€™t wait to do the extended tour via golf cart on my next visit!
