Wynwood Street Art Tour

Overview
Explore the Wynwood Art District (a section of Miami) on this guided, 1 hour 15 min walking tour. Wynwood is home to art galleries, retail stores, eclectic bars, unique restaurants, and one of the largest open-air "museums" in the world. Picture a neighborhood whose every wall is covered in murals of all kinds: funny, beautiful, provocative, political, cartoon-like, realistic, surreal, and silly. A guide will accompany you on this tour to tell you about the history of this once-neglected area and the ongoing changes here. You will learn about the difference between graffiti and murals, about individual works of art, techniques, artists, and much more. Your appreciation for art, murals, and the Wynwood Art District will be deepened by the experience.

Excellent tour - fascinating art! Our group of adults and teens enjoyed this tour - got lots of information about the area and the artists.

Our Swedish born tour guide who never offered her name, gave a perfunctory tour about the the painting of the walls. The detailed art with its myriad symbolism was begging to tell their stories but our guide only limited her spiel to a bare boned over view. Her voice lacked passion . Perhaps because only my husband and I had signed up for this tour she was not motivated ā€”or was her monochromatic personality her general nature.? The details of the history, the stories of the artists, the depth of exploration of the symbolism of the art were all sadly lacking. The tour cost $70 for two for 1 hour 15 minutes. Rather costly-our guide didnā€™t even give us the full time. My husband gave her a $20 tip ā€”I hope that will be an incentive to give a better tour to. The next tour group.

I met my daughter from Philadelphia and I am from Jacksonville. What a wonderful tour. Our Swedish/ French guide was so knowledgeable and open for all of our questions. Just amazing. Donā€™t navigate Winwood without a guide; you will miss so much if you go alone
