Ye Olde Tavern Tours

Overview
Ye Olde Tavern Tours offers historic tavern tours in Boston because we believe beer makes history even better! On our guided walking tours, you'll see ten sites on the Freedom Trail and grab a beer at some of the nation's most historic taverns. When visiting Boston, there are certain historic sites and stories you shouldn't leave without seeing and hearing, and you'll do all of that on our tour, all while drinking beer!

Led by expertly-trained historians (our guides have a minimum of a Bachelor's in History and many of them are currently working towards or have a PhD in History), you'll learn about the drunken and revolutionary history of Boston in the eighteenth century.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate and accessible experience. Our tours are the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

We are a small, local business and we greatly appreciate your support!

Great tour of the Freedom Trail with Brooke. She was an excellent tour guide and made the trip really fun. Her knowledge and enthusiasm was terrific. I would highly recommend this tour if coming to Boston. Also, the taverns along the way were great and had some really great beers!!

We had an enjoyable afternoon exploring part of Boston's Freedom Trail and old taverns with Brooke, who was friendly and extremely knowledgable. We sampled beers at 3 taverns (shame there wasn't time for more!) and because of the time of year we got to try some interesting autumn beers like Sam Adams' Oktoberfest and a pumpkin ale (which came with a sugar/cinnamon rim, lovely stuff!). Definitely a unique way to see the city and learn about its history, thanks Brooke!

My father and I decided to visit Boston for the first time just to explore and enjoy the city. We did many touristy things but "Ye Olde Tavern Tours" had to be THE best thing we did all trip. If you love history and love beer then this is the perfect tour for you. Not only do you get to walk the freedom trail and learn about the American Revolution you stop in to three of the oldest and most historical Taverns in the City. Brook who owns "Ye Olde Tavern Tours" and also leads the tours is the best tour guide I have ever encountered. She is extremely knowledgeable and very, very personable. She made the tour fun and interacted with each person wonderfully. I think I was most impressed with the fact that she remembered every one of our names on the tour and where they were from. This is a must do tour. Even if you are an expert in this subject its at the very least fun. A great way to spend an afternoon in the wonderful city of Boston.
