Ye Olde Tavern Tours

Overview
Ye Olde Tavern Tours offers historic tavern tours in Boston because we believe beer makes history even better! On our guided walking tours, you'll see ten sites on the Freedom Trail and grab a beer at some of the nation's most historic taverns. When visiting Boston, there are certain historic sites and stories you shouldn't leave without seeing and hearing, and you'll do all of that on our tour, all while drinking beer!

Led by expertly-trained historians (our guides have a minimum of a Bachelor's in History and many of them are currently working towards or have a PhD in History), you'll learn about the drunken and revolutionary history of Boston in the eighteenth century.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate and accessible experience. Our tours are the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

We are a small, local business and we greatly appreciate your support!

We totally enjoyed this tavern tour ! History and Beer, and how beer may have affected history. Brooke and Kristen, our guides were enthusiastic and knowledgeable as they led us on a walking tour of the historic area of Boston. Our group was fun and friendly as well...beer is a special bond. Do take this tour !

Best tour of any city I've ever taken. Brooke is supremely well-prepared, passionate, energetic--and knowledgable: I learned things I didn't know about a favorite local restaurant I first visited in 1963. Over the course of a leisurely afternoon walk you will learn about Boston and it's Revolutionary War-era history. After your tour Brooke can offer very good suggestions for restaurants and local attractions. Moreover, Brooke is a lot of fun: one member of our group had taken the tour the previous day and came back to do it again. I cannot recommend Ye Olde Tavern Tours more highly.

My boyfriend is not a fan of historical tours so when I was planning our trip to Boston, I was challenged with finding an experience that he would enjoy. Ye Olde Tavern Tours provided the perfect combination of historical information and beer filled fun! We walked along the main part of the Freedom Trail and visited the top attractions with several stops at significant taverns and the opportunity to taste seasonal and local brews. Our tour guide, Brooke, was amazing! She was knowledgeable about all the sites, shared great stories and even recommended additional activities in the city. It was an intimate setting so it was very interactive and I was able to ask a lot of questions. Brooke even went above and beyond and hooked us up with a way to get into an awesome game 6 of the Red Sox playoff series!! My boyfriend has told everyone about the Tavern Tour we went on. Overall excellent experience! Thanks Brooke!
