When visiting Boston, the Freedom Trail is a must-do activity, but why not see historic sites while drinking beer? Join Ye Olde Tavern Tours to see 10 sites on the Freedom Trail-including the site of the Boston Massacre and the Old State House-and grab a drink at 3 historic taverns. Beer and/or hard cider is included in the ticket price, so all you need to do is show up ready for fun.

Our guests want a unique and memorable way to learn about Boston's revolutionary (and drunken) history and for the past ten years, we have delivered. Our guides are expertly-trained historians who are also incredibly personable. Our founder, owner, and frequent tour guide has a PhD in American history and is a two-time author. We know our stuff and are passionate about sharing the most interesting stories.

We cap each tour at 12 people to provide an intimate experience. Ye Olde Tavern Tours is the most fun and social way to experience Boston!

What To Expect

Freedom Trail

See 10 historic sites on Boston's Freedom Trail, including the Old State House; Faneuil Hall; Old South Meeting House; the site of the Boston Massacre; and the burying ground of John Hancock, Samuel Adams, and Paul Revere. Stop at 3 historic taverns along the way to have a beer or cider in each, which is included in the ticket price, all while learning about the revoltuionary (and drunken) history of Boston.

I took this tour with my wife on June 21 2015. We had a great time with our small group. Brooke is very easy to get along with and is a great tour guide. The beer suggestions are great. She has a way that blends Historical facts/stories and entertaining conversations perfectly. Make sure you say your Huzzah with gusto. My wife and I highly recommend Brooke and this tour hands down. I did go back to a couple of the Taverns for some drinks after my tour. HUZZAH!!

Brooke led a wonderful tour. She is enthusiastic and makes the history of Boston come alive. All three taverns we went to were great and you got to choose from 3 different beers or cider at each. I'm not a beer drinker and still loved this tour and would recommend it to anyone going to Boston.

I'm going to compare Ye Olde Tavern Tours with a beer tour we took in Brussels, and while I would've thought nothing could top Brussels and Belgian beer (what could be better?!) the Ye Olde Tavern Tour in Boston with Brooke as our guide did - it was absolutely EXCELLENT! Brooke knows her history and is an incredibly entertaining and enthusiastic storyteller so combine that with outstanding customer service (she knew the name of everyone in the group and where they were from before we even left Boston Common!) and you can't ask for a better way to get to know the city. I am a very detailed trip planner and find fun facts to share with my husband about every city we visit. I had read at least 10 Boston tour guides and had 8 pages of notes but Brooke managed to surprise me with things I didn't know. If you're trying to decide on a beer tour or history tour in Boston - Ye Olde Tavern Tours is the one!
