Overview

Our Half Day Classic Raft trip begins at the northern border of Yellowstone National Park, right where the Gardiner River converges with the mighty Yellowstone River. This trip is fun for the whole family! Ride the waves at Bridge Waves, Man Eater, Loonie's and Boonie's Revenge, Queen of the Waters, and the KING! Take in the breathtaking view of Devil’s Slide. Float through some flat water stretches that are great for swimming and relaxing. This trip is great for first time rafters or family groups with wide age and ability ranges. This trip is 8 miles on the river and can be up to 3 hours approximately depending on water levels (CFS).

Big shout out to our guide, Zach, who was full of fun river facts (some true some BS), very safe and made it a great experience for the two families he had on board - especially for a couple of us who had never rafted before. Also a huge thanks to the operations / management crew who was able to make arrangements for getting us on a last minute rafting trip (literally) when we showed up at the wrong office...they happily made it right and did it with an enthusiastic smile. Definitely recommend this awesome team for your next floating adventure!

We arrived at the Montana Whitwater Rafting office shortly before 4. After a short briefing, we were given life jackets, helmets and waterproof shoes and were then driven to the starting point of the rafting. 2 boats, each with 6 and 7 people. We then carried the boats down a steep descent to the starting point of the tour. The tour was great, the landscape was fantastic, the category 3 rapids were easy to handle thanks to the experienced guide Bo and were fun, it was never dangerous. Our 13-year-old boys were even allowed to sit at the front of the boat and go swimming in a calmer section of the Yellowstone River. Highly recommended and we would do it again anytime!!
