Not really worth the expense. We at booking it said we would have a van which led me to believe it would be a smaller group. Instead, we had a rickety bus with a half broken door that shook and was windy while driving, only the high beam headlights seemed to work, although even those werenā€™t bright enough to affect oncoming traffic. There was a bathroom onboard that we were told was for ā€œemergencyā€ purposes. What exactly did that mean. The tour guide wasnā€™t very informative or interactive and didnā€™t seem to consider the driver a colleague. Didnā€™t introduce him at first, persistently referred to him as ā€œheā€ or ā€œhim,ā€ instead of using his name, and even made reference to ā€œoh, theyā€™re giving you tips too.ā€ The description prior to booking did NOT apply explain the hike to the sequoias very well. Although our tour guide warned us on the bus that it was difficult, this should have been mentioned prior to booking, in the description, as several of us on board were NOT hikers and this was very difficult. Itā€™s interesting how, at the top of this particular hike, thereā€™s a sign that states, ā€œallow 2-3 hours for the 2 mile loop.ā€ We were allotted 1 1/4 hours. Again, many of us not strong hikers especially with a time constraint. The Yosemite valley is beautiful and I enjoyed that scenery but overall not worth the money.

I'm glad we had a chance to talk about your tour, clarifying that nowhere in our tour descriptions does it say the group would be traveling by van to Yosemite. And also that we ask that guests not use the restroom on the coach while it is moving for their own safety (that's what emergency means). And, finally, that the sign at the trailhead for the sequoia hike refers to someone taking the extra mile loop at the end of the trail, one we instruct our guests NOT to take. The total hike is 1.25 miles and is completed every day by guests in average to good shape. We are sorry you were disappointed on the day of the tour and and now happy with our accommodation.

Never do this tour with this company. Coach broke down at 10.30 am without even reaching the first point of interest. After spending 2hr on coach and literally moving half a mile everyone on the coach had to leave it and walk to a nearby hotel until4pm. Xtranomicals spare coach also broke down so couldnā€™t help us. Management would not help the driver in any way and left the whole coach stranded all day. Many people on the coach were angry, upset and in tears. In the end the coach driver had to turn round and limp back to San Francisco which took 6 hrs arriving back at10pm. All the people on the coach never got to Yosemite and Xtranomical management didnā€™t give a damn. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE.

As we responded to this incident in another review, our bus experienced a failure of its turbo charger. Our operations staff attempted a repair but ultimately decided the best and safest course of action was to return to SF. Since our guests did not get what they paid for, we refunded everyone and offered that they take a replacement trip at any time in the future. Again, we regret the inconvenience to our guests.
