Access to the Sequoia Grove can be difficult during winter months, generally October through April, and other activities may be substituted at the discretion of the guide
During winter months, temperatures in Yosemite can vary drastically to the ones in San Francisco. Therefore, it is recommend to wear winter clothes, especially shoes or boots with rubber soles and treads
California law requires tour guests to bring a car safety seat for all children under 8 years and under 4' 9" (1.4 meters) in height. Any guest that does not provide their child's safety seat at the time of the tour and does not inform the tour operator may not be allowed to board the tour and will not be subject to refund.
As tour sizes vary, transportation is in a 13-passenger van or up to a 41-passenger tour bus
Tour makes stops at approximately 8:30am for breakfast, 1pm for lunch and on the trip back for dinner. Meals are not included

The Giant Sequoias Grove is located at a higher elevation and the hike is dependent on trail conditions, especially from October through May. Ice and snow might make the trail unsafe to hike. The decision of whether it is safe to go on the hike will be made on a day by day basis. Therefore, a visit cannot be guaranteed. However, while the trail might be closed, guests get to spend more time in Yosemite Valley. There you can see all the other great sights Yosemite has to offer, including El Capitan, Inspiration Point, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and more.

Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias

Tuolumne Grove is a sequoia grove located near Crane Flat in Yosemite National Park. It is about 16 miles west of Yosemite Village on Tioga Pass Road. The grove contains many conifers, including a few Sequoiadendron giganteum as well as Abies concolor and Pinus lambertiana. Weather permitting

A brilliant day! Phil Siegel our driver and expedition leader was fantastic! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable on the background of Yosemite and the surrounding area but went out of his way to entertain us with amusing anecdotes. His relaxed attitude coupled with the needs of the group made for a very happy and memorable tour. The views were breathtaking and the flora and fauna fascinating which were facilitated by regular photo opportunity stops.Thank Phil you were amazing!

Phil was an amazing tour guide! We had him 2 days in a row first, the Yosemite tour and second the wine country tour. It is evident that he has a great passion for San Francisco and was very knowledgeable! All his tips and hints were very helpful and allowed us us to manage our time and see and experience everything we wanted to with ample time. We couldn't have completed the same tour on our own! I would recommend Extranomical Tours to anyone I knew visiting the San Francisco area! On the other hand I did have one discrepancy, and it is with the tour pick ups. I wish that Extranomical Tours had a single pick up location it was terrible to wake up so early, miss the homemade breakfast at my bed & breakfast hotel, only to ride in a van picking people up for an hour before we began the actual tour.

The tour was GREAT! The guide (Ben) was GREAT! However, the bus used (a long, low white bus) was the most terrible ride I have ever taken. I have ridden everything from tanks to HumVees and this thing rattled your teeth and brain. Apparently, it is the last 4 seats. I now see that earlier reviews have said the same thing. At the end of the tour, I told Ben about this and his comment was "you should have moved!" Point taken, although not the response expected -- perhaps something like "we will look into to that"....but, there was at least one person in every seat and there were couples in the back seats that would not have been able to sit together. I would HIGHLY recommend you ask for their smaller vans/buses and not ride this monster - they should be replaced.
