I have experienced many tours where the guides are a wealth of knowledge about the culture, history, landscape, and surrounding areas and maintain respectful conversation. This is not that your: upon meeting Dave he never asked a person in our group their name although he did ask the youngest member (early 30 female) if she had a boyfriend or husband and if she wanted one. There is a $30 mandatory cash tip added to the total of the jeep trip that is asked for immediately upon entering the jeep and going in Dave's (who is the owner ) pocket. The trip consisted of a four hour long stream on consciousness about how the Mormon religion is based on lies, his alcoholic and drug addicted family, how his sister killed his mom, how he was adopted, his two autistic sons, his "retarded" best friend who stole his wife's gun, and his current wife that is his 2cd, 3rd, and 4th wife. A few names of plants were dotted into the guided tour before we learned about aliens and other things in the universe. He made inappropriate jokes about other tour companies and doing drugs, seeing naked woman sun bathing, among endless other comments. The view from the top of Smithsonian Butte was beautiful, but not worth it. This tour was the worst part of the trip.

Our guide, Nicole was great! This trip in the Jeep is rough and it goes along a dirt trail up through the mountain over boulders and rocks in Zion county. It is not in the Zion national park. You see the views from afar. Going up the mountain is not as fascinating as going down the mountain. Nicole was very knowledgeable about the area, and handled her jeep spectacularly. We are an older couple and found it a little more difficult than we had anticipated. However, it was a lot of fun. Your tip is due upfront and in cash which we found a bit annoying. However, this is a company issue and not a guide issue.

Not in the park, but saw many beautiful vistas from atop a mesa and from a few stops. Joel was very knowledgeable about the area; history, geology and wilderness living. Superb driver thru some challenging, but exciting terrain!
