Pros: A great way to take in the sights of Cannery Row/Fisherman’s Wharf/Pacific Grove and the beautiful Monterey coastline. 15 minute grace period allows riders to make a few quick “stops”
along pre-determined route (for picture-taking, or running in/out of favorite shop) without forfeiting allotted time. Lots of smiles and waves as you pass by pedestrians.
Cons: (2 seater) car does not fit 2 adults comfortably. Vehicles do not come equipped with trunk (or small storage space) for handbags/personal items and have little to no leg room to store items at your feet. Vehicle cannot be driven in reverse. Instead, driver must *manually* push car backwards, which can be a challenge if required to push up hill. Trip route is pre-set using (dated) GPS system located in the vehicle. Drivers cannot choose to vary their route without being unnecessarily “sent back” in direction of pre-programmed route. Many streets in the downtown area are one-way which can be frustrating/confusing to navigate.
