A breathtaking, spiritual experience, even for those doubters, like me. I could have stayed in this place all day. Our guide, John, picked us up at the View hotel lobby right on time. My wife and I were the only two people signed up, so we got a private tour, and we saw only 6 other people the entire 2.5 hours, so it was really serene.
John lives right at the valley entrance, and knows so much about the place, and shared all his insight and knowledge, what a great guy. The tour takes you places you cannot get to in your own car, and with all the recent snows, you would get stuck in the mud anyway. Take some time to breathe in the air and enjoy the natural, unique beauty around you.
Lots of history here too, of course with the Navajo, and many movies. You can google the list and look at different scenes. No camping is allowed in the valley, but there is one spot where Rose, a native dweller, has a few hoodoos you can rent for overnight. That would be amazing.
