An early start to cover a lot of miles. We had 32 people on the bus and this was just about enough.
The guide Lizette was excellent and delivered great information in two languages, English and Spanish. Pity Markis the driver thought it was appropriate to talk and text on his mobile phone throughout the trip. All of the Australians on board looked in horror at this, touching a mobile phone while driving in Australia is strictly forbidden.
The actual sites are spectacular, Lizette gave excellent advice about how to maximise our time there and ensure we saw everything.
If you have limited time to see Niagara Falls this is the tour to do. Immigration at the border was flawless but would hate to see it once the season has started.
The hotel was perfectly ok and I would stay there again.
Shopping stop on the way home was just a time filler that could've been cut to save time.
My goal was to see Niagara Falls from both sides and this was achieved with lots of information and great people. The Maid of the Mist tour was great fun and is included, you will get wet standing on the outside of the boat but it is worth it.
The falls are lit up at night so make sure you stay out to see another view.
Loved it! It was great to see the falls and going on the drive there and back was lovely too.
The trip that my wife and I and friends made to Niagara was a mixed bag. The starting point at Grand Central Station was chaotic and information was not passed on effectively. Admittedly there were two buses going to Niagara but some signage indicating the loading procedure would have been helpful. As the trip progressed our guide did not always use the bus speaker system to pass on information and those sitting at the rear could not hear. Perhaps a map on a large display board would have assisted us track our journey. For what ever reason we made a number of unscheduled stops along the way to, as we understood the situation allow four people to catch up with the bus. We do not understand why these people were not at the meeting point. Despite being assured by our guide that these people were not far away they did not arrive until we reached the American side of the falls where a 1 hour 15 minutes stop over seemed excessive. As a result we arrived at out motel after 9pm. The rest of the passengers had to be greatly inconvenienced by the missing four people who made no attempt to socialise when they did arrive. Apparently the driver at this time had exceeded his log hours and we had to make a choice of going to the restaurant or being dropped at the falls for a night viewing and then walking back to the motel. The restaurant that we wished to go to had already closed. The motel was a welcome surprise but again there was confusion about the breakfast procedure. The motel gave each person a breakfast voucher that indicated the breakfast restaurant would open at 6:30am but the sign at the restaurant said 7:00 am. Despite people waiting outside, the restaurant did not open. The receptionist at the motel commented that this was a management decision and left it at that.On the return journey the four late people were dropped at their hotel outside Manhattan. This courtesy did not seem to be offered to other passengers who had to make their way to and from Grand Central.
