My husband and I took the Downeast Sunset Cruise in July on the Margaret Todd. It was warmer than usual in Bar Harbor, but a beautiful day. The sunset was gorgeous. And, the musician, who played guitar and sang many songs of our generation, was a terrific accompaniment to the beautiful scenery. The VERY large ship had its pros and cons. On the positive side, if you are prone to sea sickness, you don’t have to worry because the ship is so large, we barely felt movement. However, the negative is also the size of the ship because they pack people into every inch of available space. I don’t know how many people, but it seemed there were 200+! The Margaret Todd was fun and I would still recommend it, but if you are looking for a more romantic sunset cruise, IMO this isn’t it. For that, I would suggest their much smaller Joshua ship.

Thank you for your review. And yes, you are correct, our wildly popular sunset cruise is a tad cozy with 150 maximum passenger capacity. In our opinion, the most romantic - and least crowded - opportunity would be one of our private sailing or power excursions. Perhaps you could give one a try on a future trip!
