Not at all what they say...just an overcrowded ride on a barge. Advertised as a sunset sail - no sailing involved...motored out just a little way into the water (dock still visible) and bobbed around while they sold over priced cocktails and kept guests sitting. No history of the boat, bar harbor, or the area. One crew member even ridiculed the "Lame Sunset" as we held onto the one positive point in the excursion. Only positive was meeting some interesting people who were as equally disappointed. Don't waste your time or money. Not a water experience worthy of Bar Harbor, to say the least.

We are so sorry you see our cruise as a waste of time; many of our passengers would vehemently disagree. The Margaret Todd is a 151' schooner with more than a foot of elbow room for each passenger but when it's at full capacity, the ride can be a bit cozy. As you said, no sailing will be involved if there is no wind - we certainly have no control over that. We do not sell cocktails, but our beverage service does include beer and wine. Also, we typically do not provide much, if any at all, narration on our sunset cruise so as not to overpower our musician. Guests are instructed to sit so as to not interfere with the Captain's navigation or "rock the boat." We are dismayed to hear the comment from our crew member and have informed management about it to issue a correction. Again, we are sorry you were disappointed but to say it's a waste of time and money is your opinion, greatly outnumbered by numerous satisfied customers.
