We visited Adventure Island on a trip to Tampa. It was a very good day.
Because there were so many of us and a baby and two toddlers, we rented a ten person cabana. A little pricey, but we split the cost and it was worth every penny. The place has plenty of seating, a waterproof lockbox and a good size refrigerator. It was stocked with bottled water, cotton candy and caramel corn were also provided. Danielle was our very competent hostess. She even brought the food we ordered.
The park- it is not crowded, has lots of water activities for all ages, and is clean., although could use some tlc. They seem understaffed and some of their features were closed.
Of course some of the clientele have tacky taste in swimming gear, but one finds that in every water park.
The food stands were out of much of their menu items and many were closed, facilitating a one hour wait in line for a hamburger (which wasn’t available on their delivery menu).
This is a very family friendly park, no bad behavior or language that any of us encountered. The staff was courteous.
There were no crowds most of the day- we went on a Tuesday. We waited out a late afternoon downpour- typical Florida.
Maybe they don’t need things like free drinks and sunscreen (like Holiday World, Santa Claus, Indiana) to attract more people.
The section of town this is in might look a little shady, but we had no issues and the people we encountered walking to and from our hotel were friendly and helpful.
