Fairbanks (about 4 hours round trip)

We'll depart at night, follow a professional guide to take the Aurora Shuttle to the area outside Fairbanks, away from the interference of urban light pollution, which will greatly increasing your chances of seeing the aurora. Our professional aurora guides will take you to the most powerful aurora viewing area to chasing the aurora according to the weather conditions, the direction of the aurora and their rich experience in light chasing, and will introduce you to the Northern Lights and instruct you in camera parameter set-up and aurora borealis shooting techniques to help you take stunning aurora photos. You will return to your hotel to rest at around 2 am the next morning.

Frank was a great guide. We were supposed to just get on and out of the van, but since it was 0 and below, he instead took us to the lodge where we could be inside, providing us with warm drinks and snacks. We were on our way back to the hotel when the Aurora showed itself to us again, so Frank stopped for us to view for at least 30 minutes. Would recommend him to others.

1. It says it includes coffee and snacks, this is not true. 2. The tour was in Mandarin, this was not said anywhere. 3. The van was cold all the time. 4. The tour guide requested a mandatory tip at the end (tip should be optional based on the service, which was horrible). 5. It says 4-5 hours. It was 3:30. When we were actually able to see the northern lights we had only about 40 minutes to see it. Once you see a bit the tour guide decides to go back home. 6. Do not waste your money here. Use one app to chase the auroras by yourself and enjoy. This tours is what they use. The same app you would use.

This was a fantastic, small group excursion. The location was great to be able to see the northern lights and then go inside the lodge and warm up with hot chocolate or coffee. The lodge isn’t fancy but it was warm and had bathrooms available. Our guide Cody was terrific. He helped show us how to set up our phones to take photos. He was always on watch for the changing northern lights. He even took time lapse videos he shared with us and pictures of us with the northern lights as background. This tour exceeded our expectations and hopes. It was a really special night.
