The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

  • DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
  • Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
  • VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
  • BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

The entire excursion was the most incredible thing I have ever experienced. It was exhilarating to go sledding with these wonderful animals in charge. What a thrill. The dogs were so gentle and friendly and the organizers were very helpful and made sure that the whole experience was the best to be had. An added bonus was seeing the puppies and holding them. I highly recommend this as a must-do for anyone visiting Alaska.

We did this tour yesterday and are still buzzing!!!! It was AMAZING!!! From the initial emails back and forth with Peter to the shuttle back to hotel with Reuben everything was first class and super professional! Pam our calm and confident pilot was great as she communicated constantly during the flight, explained terrain and pointed out wildlife. We saw bears, moose and goats! Justin the dog musher was incredibly patient and calm and gave us the most amazing experience on the sled with the dogs. Reuben our shuttle guy was also excellent enabling us to have the most incredible experience, one of best tours we’ve ever done. I am in a wheelchair and that was absolutely no barrier to this team of professionals, I was welcomed along with everyone else and had one unforgettable experience of a lifetime!

This was worth every penny. The helicopter staff and pilot were amazing and accommodating. The ride was smooth and beautiful. The dogs and the owners were just awesome. We could have stayed for hours. Best adventure tour ever!
