The most popular tour! Drive your own sled-dog team with 6 time Iditarod winner Dallas Seavey's team of mushers, handlers and champion dogs on real snow in the middle of summer surrounded by amazing scenery. Start this adventure with a helicopter ride over glaciers. We often see moose, black bears, Dall sheep and goats. Land on a glacier and enjoy a whole hour with champion sled dogs and their mushers that live here all summer. Take the dog team for a ride through real snow. You can stand on the runners and mush a dog team or just sit on the sled and let the mushers run the team. After your dogsled tour meet the canine athletes that pulled your sled, and of course take pictures with your favorite dogs. After the tour the helicopter takes you back to the lodge and you’ll fly over the lower glaciers where you can see the blue melt pools and the crevasses.

Total Tour Time: 1.5 hours - includes 1 hour with the dogsled team (aprox 30 min sled ride) and approx 30 min round trip flightseeing

DRESS FOR ALL WEATHER - the weather at dog camp is high elevation and may be cold and wet. Layers with an outer waterproof shell is recommended.
Alaska Helicopter Tours has Robinson 44s and ASTAR helicopters. We never guarantee the type of helicopter you will be flying in unless a private helicopter option is purchased. Parties with multiple separate bookings, or parties over 2 passengers may be in 2 helicopters, but will always be together for the tour.
VAN TRANSFERS TO DEPARTURE LOCATION NOT INCLUDED - can be added for a fee
BAGS/BACKPACKS/LOOSE STRAPS ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE HELICOPTER - please leave all bags in the vehicle or we do have lockers to store them

We had a fantastic time with Michael our pilot, great flight, great staff. Scenery was amazing, beautiful clear day. Loved the mushing.

By far my favorite experience this far! A group of 10 of us went and had an amazing time. An absolute MUST on a bucket and to-do list! We will come back just for this!

This was the most amazing part of our trip to Alaska! I cannot stop smiling thinking of the incredible day we had! Michael, our helicopter pilot, was fabulous. We felt so safe and steady in the helicopter and were able to see such exciting views (plus we saw a moose and a bear from the sky!). Once we got to the dog sledding portion, our day improved even more! Fiona, our guide (and musher!) was informative, kind, and helped us feel confident and steady while “mushing” ourselves. The dogs were so sweet and friendly too. Plus, we got to cuddle some puppies & meet all the sled dogs. All in all, this was the most incredible experience and I cannot recommend it enough. Fiona & Michael are two of the best. We will cherish the memories from today forever!!
