Great break from the beach. We were a couple, and the tour had 14, some of whom had never kayaked and they did just fine. It was about 90 mins of paddling - 45 or so on the river and 45 or so down the narrow canal through the cypress trees. Fun navigating the twists and turns. Beautiful butterflies on the shore flowers. Flat, deep, clean water made dark by the peat. Our 10am sunny day didn’t see much wildlife but still gorgeous and peaceful. Wondered if there might be mosquitoes or other bugs, and we didn’t experience any. You put in at the trail, no concessions for anything last minute, so make sure you have your water, sunglasses, sunscreen and ziplock for your phone, if you’re taking it, all set before you arrive. Your butt and legs will get wet from the paddle but feels nice in the heat. Booking online with trip advisor was easy. We did single kayaks but some others had doubles, so I’m assuming you do that if you book direct with them.
