Aventure dans l'arrière-pays du parc national des Arches au départ de Moab

Aperçu
The tour will head north on US 191 passing the entrance of Arches National Park which was designated as a National Monument before being changed to a National Park in 1971. Our special use permit allows us to enter the back door to Arches via Willow Springs Road. Along this backcountry route, you'll travel through the new area of the "Utah Raptor State Park". Here where Native Americans lived back in history for thousands of years you'll see dinosaur tracks and enjoy the views of the La Sal Mountains. The Park lies atop an underground salt bed that is responsible for the arches, spires, and sandstone fins. Several of the stops include Eye of the Whale(Backcountry), Balanced Rock(Pavement), Sand Dune Arch(Pavement), Delicate Arche Viewpoint(Pavement), and the Windows Section(Pavement). The trip length is approximately 4 hours duration. All vehicles are Jeep Rubicons which are enclosed and air-conditioned.

Our tour guide, Mark, did an excellent job showing us some out of the way and off the main road sights. We saw some arches that are not normally seen when going into Arches NP. The Jeep we rode in was immaculate and we never felt unsafe, even tho this was our 1st time going off road in a 4X4. Snacks, water and bathroom breaks were provided as needed. He had a great knowledge of the geology and history of the area-along with a good sense of humor. Definitely recommend this company-ask for Mark!

We went on a halfday Backcountry tour with Mark and had a great time. We saw the Park from "off" the paved roads (and on the paved roads) and learned a lot about the history of Arches NP. Mark was a fantastic guide. He was knowledgeable and friendly and helped tailor the tour to what we were interested in. Don't miss Eye of the Whale (Whale Tail) Arch! Highly, highly recommended.
