The fishing on the bay is great fishing, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Whiting, and many others, including Red Fish. Bay fishing trips primarily target tasty sand trout and whiting but customers will also have opportunities to catch red drum and black drum. Customers can also bring their own gear if they desire, but Captain Murphy’s will not be responsible for it.

All persons fishing, ages 17 and older are required to have a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License. You can easily purchase a fishing license online by going to Texas Parks and Wildlife website and Fishing License

We didn’t catch many keepers but the experience was excellent. Crew was very attentive and entertaining. Will definitely book this again next month. One thing I didn’t understand…why no bananas? Ha!

We are VERY HAPPY that even though the bite wasn't good you had a fun trip. FYI: The fear of bananas on board has its origins in the 1700s, when the Caribbean trade was in full swing. It was believed that boats carrying bananas had to move quickly to deliver the fruits before they spoiled, leaving little to no time for fishermen to troll for fish.

The two guides were amazing! They were so funny and made the trip! I will definitely use them again when we go back on our next trip!

I enjoyed this fishing trip. Usually I don’t get sea sick for some reason I did this time but It didn’t matter because everyone on the boat caught their limit so fast we were back on land after only 2 hours.
