Bay Fishing South Padre Island

Overview

The fishing on the bay is great fishing, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Whiting, and many others, including Red Fish. Bay fishing trips primarily target tasty sand trout and whiting but customers will also have opportunities to catch red drum and black drum. Customers can also bring their own gear if they desire, but Captain Murphy’s will not be responsible for it.

All persons fishing, ages 17 and older are required to have a valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License. You can easily purchase a fishing license online by going to Texas Parks and Wildlife website and Fishing License

Currently, there are no mask mandates or capacity limitations in place. You are welcome to wear a mask, but they are not required. We do make a practice of sanitizing the boat between trips, and our Captain and Crew frequently wash their hands.

We did not want to spend a zillion dollars to fish and the price was right! The weather was beautiful. Cesar was an excellent guide. We did not see much of the captain? (Driver) but we went to five or six locations to find the best fishing. The second we caught a fish Cesar was there to take it off, get a stringer going, or throw it back and rebait our lines. It was so relaxing!. Everyone brought small coolers with drinks and snack of their own. The highlight of the trip for me besides the boat, weather and pleasant company was a view of SPACEX that we tried to get to by land but the road was under water when we attempted. Best $30 spent!

Fishing with my grandkids. The attendants were pretty good about getting us started and showing kids how to use rod and reels. We stayed in one spot most of the time even though we were not catching many fish. Other fishing trips I have been on like this they moved us several times. They finally moved us once toward the end of the trip but was not there long and we had to come back in.

Terrible crew. Crew was fishing while passenger was throwing up and others complaining of feeling sick.

Unfortunately, sometimes customers do get a little seasick. The crew do continue to fish so the rest of the customers can catch their fish.
