Aperçu
Thousands of mule deer, elk, moose, big horn sheep and bison migrate into the valley in search of food each year along with coyotes, fox, bald and golden eagles, swans, and even packs of wolves. This gathering of wintering wildlife makes winter one of the best times to view wildlife in Jackson Hole!

After a full morning in the field we will enjoy lunch together at a local eatery before heading back out for the afternoon. When available, we will take a horse drawn sleigh through the National Elk Refuge into the middle of the largest wild elk herd in North America. Following the sleigh ride, we will head back into the field to spot more wildlife.

  • For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

My wife and I did a full day tour around Jackson Hole during our first trip to the area and had a wonderful outing! Our guide, Jeffery, gave us an incredible experience during our tour. He was an amazing source of knowledge and information for not only the wildlife, but the geology, history, ecology, and conservation efforts around the national parks. He provided us ample time to view wildlife and provided as many possible opportunities to see a variety of species that inhabit the area as he could. The full day also included lunch at a local pizza bar that served a variety of food from lamb schwarma soup to barbecue chicken pizza. It also provided beautiful view of the surrounding mountain ranges! We also got to enjoy a horse drawn sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge just outside of Jackson, which provided up close view of the hundreds of Elk that formed their herd in the lower areas of the refuge, as well as a deeper dive into the wildlife conservation done with the elk and other species in the surrounding ecosystem. Morgan was a wonderful and informative guide for that part of the tour. We had an amazing experience that has us itching to come back during another season to experience even more of the wildlife and area!

We are so glad you and your wife had an absolutely incredible time in Jackson Hole! The combination of a knowledgeable guide, amazing wildlife experiences, and a stunning setting must have made for a truly memorable trip. Jeffery's expertise and the opportunity to see so many species up close must have been one of the highlights of the day. And it’s awesome that you got to experience the horse-drawn sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge—it sounds like a magical way to observe the elk in their natural habitat.

We had an amazing experience! We saw moose, bison, coyotes, wolves, bald eagles, elk, bighorn sheep. It was an incredible day. Our guide, Barry, was very knowledgeable and lovely. We will definitely do again in the summer!
