I have been on Big Bus in Boston and Las Vegas in the last year and both had live tour guides explaining the views. They were excellent! This Big Bus had a recorded message and it did not relate to what we were actually seeing at that time. Also about 75% of the time Music played!!!

This bus is a great way to visit multiple sites in Chicago. On our 2nd day we boarded at Navy Pier after the Architecture Boat tour and got off at Millennium Park to visit "The Bean" and then back on to continue the tour. Charlie is a fantastic driver giving lots of Chicago history and puts his heart and soul into his job. On our trip we also had 2 other drivers who were not fantastic 😒. Overall well worth the $$ spent on our tickets. We were a little confused originally not being able to find the bus stop at the Water Tower on our first trip ( I bought a 2-day pass). I didn't see an employee to scan my e-ticket and print a physical copy of the ticket. That driver looked disgusted when I showed him my ticket on my phone. Then he just waved me onto the bus not wanting to deal with me evidently. He was a pretty crazy driver honking and navigating rush hour traffic.

We have done these tours in other cities and enjoyed the commentary as we gazed at sights and decided to give the tour a try even though we live in the Chicago area. Unlike other cities with speaker broadcasted commentary, we were given headphones to listen to a dated and corny prerecorded script. When we boarded the bus, we needed to sit on the lower level since the upstairs was full. The lower level was no different than a CTA bus with the plastic bucket seat and fuzzy view die to an advertisement plastered to the bus. Once we made it upstairs, the views were beautiful but I won’t be rushing to return anytime soon.
