Great experience. My experience with the Big Bus Chicago Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour was unforgettable. The flexibility of the tour allowed me to explore some of Chicago’s most iconic attractions at my own pace while enjoying stunning panoramic views from the open-top bus. One of my first stops was the Shedd Aquarium, where I was amazed by the diverse marine life and interactive exhibits. The chance to see creatures from all over the world made it a truly memorable experience. Next, I headed to 360 Chicago in the John Hancock Building. The observation deck offered breathtaking views of the city and Lake Michigan, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Chicago. The Willis Tower was another highlight. Standing on the Skydeck’s glass-bottomed ledge, with the city spread out below me, was both thrilling and surreal. To wind down, I visited the Chicago Riverwalk. The peaceful stroll along the riverfront was perfect for soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere, with its charming cafes, local art, and scenic views. The tour’s live commentary was both engaging and informative, adding depth to each stop. Combining convenience, education, and adventure, the Big Bus Tour was the perfect way to experience Chicago’s unique energy and charm.

This was a bit different from the usual hop-on hop-off tours we normally take when visiting cities. It wasn't the usual information commentary, it was done more as a conversation between two people and included multiple choice quizzes etc. It was a bit cheesy to be honest but I expect it would be more fun for families with younger children. I prefer when it is live commentary rather than recorded, but it was fine for learning the basics about Chicago for my first visit there. I enjoyed the route it took, it covered all the places I wanted to see and it was a lovely clear day to ride up top (bit chilly but I was prepared for that). I especially enjoyed the trip along the shore out to the planetarium, as well as the circuit it did within the city. I did think it was a bit expensive for a basic tour (in other cities a ticket often includes other things) at $55 for one adult passenger, but I'd still recommend it if you don't have much time for exploring.
