We have experienced a lot of Bus Tours and this was by far the most expensive and badly managed. There was a lack of commentary, and when there was it was automated. The music played in-between the automated commentary was repetitive. The Red Loop took over 2 hours due to excessive waiting time at some of the stops. A number of the staff were rude and unhelpful. At $200 for 4 people it was absolutely not value for money! As visitors to this country we feel robbed.

We traveled on The Big Bus, Washington D.C. day tour on Friday Sept. 13, 1019. Every step of the way from ticket purchase, ride, directions, on and off hints, was seamless. ALL employees along the way were helpful and courteous. A rainy day, they had plastic ponchos available if needed. We enjoyed the sights and the trip over all. Needed more time than we thought to see what we wanted, so would buy a two-day pass in the future. Our hats are off to "Tenashia" who sold us our tickets at Union Station. The route is convenient and for the three stops we got off/on at we didn’t have to wait terribly long for pick up. We were instructed to follow the times in the app and you can see pretty accurately the locations of the buses on the app in real time. We got on after our last museum on our first day in the city, thinking it would take us back to our hotel as it was the bus closest to our hotel stop on the route per the app with a final bus time of 5:26 at that stop. Instead we were dropped off on the opposite side of the route and told to find other transportation back. The driver never indicated that he was not going to complete the circuit. We were forced to figure out the metro and found it much more convenient. The tour guides on the bus provided little information and the audio recording cut out frequently. When you could hear it, it was interesting. We paid for two days and did the hop on/off three times, not even making a complete loop. Find a service that gives you one loop around the city with good quality audio and information and then take the metro. If you do do a bus tour I felt that I saw more of the DC Bus Tour buses around than the Big Bus buses, so you might have better luck.
