Bought a 2 day pass on line at 15% discount. Had a number of problems. 1. Both mornings, the first bus (at 9.18) did not turn up at Georgetown, and on our 2nd day nor did the second (at 9.38). 2. Handed in our computer generated ticket to then have to hang around whilst the driver printed off a new one which was 1 metre long!! And it really was 1 metre long!!! Then when anyone new got on the bus who did not have a Big D ticket, the driver/conductor then printed off new tickets so we spent ages just parked up. Such a waste of time and resources especially as only on 1 occasion did anyone look closely at our ticket. 3. The commentary is a mixture of prerecorded and live which worked quite well except that the feed kept cutting out and at least 2 of the jack plugs we tried to use on older buses did not work. We also had problems with the guide on our Red Route trip as her speech was not clear because she mumbled. 4. The guided walk through the White House Gardens did not happen as all the gardens where closed off for rebuilding and security issues. Instead our guide took us to the President’s church and then led us down the neighbouring streets which was not really what we wanted. So overall we would not recommend Big Bus and if we revisit would use Trolley Bus as they looked v smart and they were always passing our bus as we were parked up printing off tickets!

We had a nice tour of DC with our family of four (kids 11 and 12) The tour guide, Steven, provided an excellent narration of the sights with interesting facts and details. Very entertaining.

We found the trips tour guides to be in formative and friendly! Did find one to be a bit pushy about receiving a tip to the point where she passed around a bag for tips!! The journey is designed to show as many of the major sites possible and the route was spot on!! Could find at the most popular sites to re-board may incur a long wait if the bus fills up!
