I’ve used Black Tie at other resorts before, so I thought I’d give them another try. The initial delivery and fitting were fine (although come to later find out that they put my wife in too long of a ski making her experience on the slopes more difficult). The problems began when we needed to exchange a helmet (it did not fit my daughter). I was told it would take a couple of hours to get a new one (we were at the base ready to ski at that time). Fortunately, my helmet fit my daughter and she could go to her lesson. I waited at the base for an hour for a replacement helmet before I could get on the slopes.
What I previously have mentioned happens. I was not upset at this point. What really disappointed me is what occurred on our last day. We rented a condo about 0.5 miles from the base (not an easy walk with equipment). Our friends had just come into town and we were looking forward to some Apres after a day of skiing. I called Black Tie to see if they could meet me at the base to pick up our equipment. The answer was no (Thanks Hanna...and you really need to work on your customer service. When I spoke with you, you sounded like I was inconveniencing you.). So while my friends were enjoying themselves, I made multiple trips, 3 I believe, to carry our ski equipment back to the condo and waited for Black Tie to retrieve the equipment.
Do yourselves a favor. Rent your equipment at the base. (they provide free overnight storage too, and if there is an equipment problem, they are right there!). Because of this experience, I’ll never use Black Tie again.
