If you want to raft, zip line, or both in the Royal Gorge area, this is definitely the place. The guides are professional, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The zip lines and rafting routes are really great.
Home base for all of it has a great restaurant and bar with tons of other activities…volleyball, horseshoes, corn hole, tetherball, axe throwing.
Our guides for zip lining were Kaylee and Molly, and they were both excellent. My daughter is 8, and barely met the minimum weight requirement. That meant she didn’t always quite make it to the landing platform. They were awesome at talking her through getting herself the rest of the way, or snagging her when required. Kaylee bonded with my daughter and her cousins over Taylor Swift, and told my kiddo she should come back to be a zip line guide when she turns 18.
Our rafting guide was Marcus, and he was equally awesome. He definitely had a challenging boat to work with, having three young kids in it. He handled the challenge like a champ, though. He talked us through everything, and got us through some nasty stuff without anybody going overboard!
This was our first time to this area, but won’t be our last. When we come back, I’m doing the extreme zip line and the Royal Gorge raft trip. I’ve gotta see what the more intense offering have in store.
