Although the night was dark, moonless, clear starry sky, the bioluminesce was minimal. Half a dozen tiny glimmery sparks on the whole trip. The river was crowded -- in the dark -- and filled with blinding bubble safety lights on kayakers' life vests. Due to, as the guide said, the "talent" of various members of our group of 7, we did not go far or see much. The guide was informative, but boring and hard to hear. Other guests were loudly chatting and somewhat rude about not staying at reasonable intervals. The backrest was broken on my seat, and although I told the guide as soon as I dtepped into the kayak, he made no move to fix it. This was a bucketlist event for me, so I will probably try again at another time and place. Not enough bang for the buck.
