Excursion d'une journée historique au chat noir

Aperçu
Our daytime historic tour is a story of Pirates and Puritans, Witchcraft and War.  We travel around the city of Salem and share the tales of its amazing history.  From its humble beginnings as a city founded on the idea of peace for all, to the site of the largest incident of witchcraft hysteria in the modern world, learn how it became one of the biggest shipping ports in America, played host to some of the most famous authors of all time, and learn some of the biggest secrets this city has to offer!

Our daytime walking tour lasts about an hour and forty five minutes, and covers a mile's worth of the downtown area. It is an easy walk, but we suggest comfortable shoes and clothing to match the season. Our tours are unscripted, and can be customized to every group's particular areas of interest!

This is the walking tour to book. Daniel was so knowledgeable. In addition to exhaustive information about Salem’s history, he fielded all of our questions about engineering, etymology, where did the river go? He recited poetry. He translated Latin. He taught us some French. He wears a feather in his cap. I was only sorry we didn’t make time for the nighttime tour that Black Cat runs. But I guess we’ll just have to go back!

My mom and I had planned a tour here with some family friends in early October-little did we know how busy it was going to be! Black Cat tours was so accommodating and was able to reschedule us. We ended up going on a Sunday and it was just us on the tour which was awesome! Daniel was incredible and so knowledgeable. His history knowledge was actually jaw-dropping at times. In addition, he was respectful of our time. Would absolutely recommend this any time of year to local and out of town tourists!

This is a great historical tour. We did this tour in October and obviously, Salem was busy. The guide was great, he was easy to hear even with all the noise and people. We had a very informative history of the witch trials and other Salem history.
