This was an easy way to tour Boston and get the lay of the land. As we did hop on and off we had a number of drivers. All were good in that they had a wealth of historical facts, and shared some fun facts as well.
Two problems, though -- first was that we awaited pickup at the State House, which was one of the last stops on the loop, and there was a crowd waiting to get on the bus. There were not enough seats on the bus, so more than a few people had to wait. As we were getting close to needing to get back to South Station, we opted to walk. Having to walk a segment of the tour makes the tour less of a good value, and it's NOT cheap to begin with.
Second problem: One of our drivers was funny and knowledgeable, very personable. But he ask some obscure history question, and if no one knew the answer, he'd say that Americans were stupid about history, didn't know anything. I'm okay with humor and sarcasm, but this went too far. We visited Boston for its history, so no need to berate us.
I still give the tour 4 stars because of the convenience of getting around, and the knowledge of the drivers. But I think there are some things that need to be worked out in terms of handling crowds, and perhaps that one driver needs Customer Service 101 training.

Many thanks for your feedback Dave...our dispatchers are extremely mindful to leave ample seating for the volume of tickets sold that day, however if an unexpected traffic condition causes the trolley a delay, there may be additional customers waiting at a stop, at this time the driver communicates to dispatch to send a backup trolley. We will also resolve the issue with the driver that had excessive sarcasm.
We apologies for the delay and happy to hear that you enjoyed many factors of the tour.
Sincerely,
-Mike T
