Just had a fantastic 4WD adventure with Jason from Waterpocket Adventure Company (May 2022). I had booked his full day tour of Cathedral Valley. Jason was flexible, very knowledgeable and fun to travel with. I am fascinated by the geology of the area. He explained a lot and gave me time and space to look in awe at the varied landscapes. The tour included colorful bentonite hills, viewpoints, the famous Cathedral Valley and Sun and Moon temples, a sinkhole, and a gypsum hill. He was nice enough to add a small detour for me to see something I had missed the day before. Plus, as he is a local and has explored extensively the area, he was able to show me dinosaur bones in a cliff! The car was in excellent condition, and I felt safe the entire tour. The only (negative): I wish I was staying one more day to head South to the Waterpocket fold with him!!!

We were amazed by the awesome beauty of the Waterpocket fold scenery in the Capitol Reef National Park. Jason took us to places that we would never have found on our own and we felt safe and relaxed at all times. He took all the time of the world to explain the geology formations of the area, and showed us many, many marvelous footprints of the past. His vast knowledge of what happened here millions of year ago made the tour very interesting. He was very kind, respectful and attentive to our needs. We had the most fantastic time on our Burr Trail/ Water Packetfold tour. When we come back we definitely will ask Jasón to take us around on a new adventure! What a great way to see the less traveled parts of Capitol Reef!! I was worried about traveling on sandy, possibly muddy roads, in a rental SUV in a remote area. So glad I signed up to see this out of the way area with Jason! He took us to see some beautiful areas, and was very knowledgeable about the geology and history of the area, which really enhanced the experience. He was willing to spend as much or as little time at each stop as we wanted, so it was personalized. I wish I had booked the whole day instead of just a half, it was just that fabulous.
