Yes, you should 100% do this tour with Jim. We did the tour on our first day here in the morning (09:30am) so we had an introduction to Charleston and so it would not be super crowded. We then based the rest of our day off of what Jim showed us. He even helped us find a very cute Bed and Breakfast in the French Quarter area since we came into Charleston not knowing where we were going to stay. We ate at The Blind Tiger after for lunch; highly recommended. Jim touches on information for everyone to enjoy from historical facts, to botany, to local places to eat and check out. He is very knowledgeable and showed great enthusiasm and passion for the preservation of Charleston. For those visiting, Jim also sent a text before the meet up as a friendly reminder of the meet up location and of course if you have any issues navigating parking he was there to help; there are also instructions in the email you get with the parking garage address and other metered parking right next to the meet up spot. For anyone who needs ADA accessibility, I think this tour would be doable even with certain alley ways we went in but just a little bumpy in certain sections since the sidewalks in Charleston are not the smoothest. Jim also kept the pace very light and easy with plenty of breaks. Even if you live in Charleston there seems to be tons to learn about this beautiful place! We will definitely do this tour again when we return and also recommend it to anyone we know who will visit… you should check it out too! =]

Highly recommended! If you only have time to do one tour while in Charleston, this is the one. Lawrence our tour guide was great! So much information and history. He will take you places that you would never see on your own. This is the best tour we took while in town!

We’ve been on many a walking tour in the US and Europe and this ranks as one of the best. Jim’s love and knowledge of Charleston is evident. His tour is both interesting and entertaining and includes Charleston history and customs. Even the teens were paying rapt attention. You’ll see so many more details in these quiet paths than on a carriage ride. Good job, Jim!
