We took this tour on 1/18/2020. Jim was our guide. It as an amazing tour. Jim took us out of the congested tourist area and guided us through the beautiful backstreets and alleys. His knowledge of the history of Charleston was in-depth. Our family thought the tour was the highlight of our stay.

We did the alley tour and fortunately for us, we were the only couple. Capt Jim took advantage of our small group and customized the tour to fit us. We loved the history and detailed stories. Jim is a wealth of knowledge. If money were no object, I would hire Jim for our whole visit. Great tour for us and we highly recommend.

Our guide, Jim, was prompt, engaging, very knowledgeable, and able to hold our attention for 2 1/2 hours. We got a real VIP experience because we were the only two on the tour, which was great. We had the inside track on architectural highlights, back stories, and of course the alleys and passages of Charleston. There were many highlights including stories about President George Washington, duels in Philadelphia Alley, Tiffany glass inside St. Michael's church, and tales of catastrophic fires and devastating earthquakes. We took 4 tours during our weekend and Jim was by far our favorite guide. I never would have looked up Philadelphia Alley on my own, so I am glad I was in the hands of a pro. We took the tour our first full day in Charleston and it really enhanced our experience throughout our entire weekend. We contemplated the value of Charleston's Carolina Gold rice and drilled down sourcing more information on George Washington. We love history and this was a great tour with a super guide.
