Overall excellent experience! My husband and I (mid-40s) took and adult weekend trip “back home” to Chicago and this was a last minute Sunday morning decision. We were glad there were last minute tickets available! The bus was comfortable, clean, and air-conditioned. We sat about 4rows from the front and sound & temp were both perfect. Our tour guide was younger (20s maybe) and very sweet. She was funny and sure knew her facts! Her narration was very natural, unlike some I’ve had who sound like they’re reading a script. The tour content was very fascinating. My husband even learned a lot of tidbits, and he went into it thinking he knew everything about Dillinger, being a history buff from Crown Point, IN! I loved that it was a true mix of various crimes both mafia and unrelated… i was worried it would just be ~2hrs about Al Capone. Our guide was also very attentive. They do a full sweep and quick cleaning of the bus between yours. I’m so glad they did because my husband somehow dropped his iphone 13 in the crack of the seat! We didn’t notice h til we’re about 10mins away. Turned right around and our guide smiled as he walked up and asked if she found a phone. She had it in hand and gave it right to us. So thankful for that! It does say “Alcohol, food and drinks are not allowed on the bus. Non-alcoholic beverages may be consumed off of the bus” but many of us had water bottles and nobody said anything about that fwiw. Hydration is a must. The only negative keeping this tour for 5/5 was that it seemed to be TOO much info crammed into the time allotment. It felt very rushed. Especially our stops where we hopped off and walked a little. For example, we had 10mins from exiting the bus until the bus was leaving to walk 1/2block to Harry Carey’s, navigate our way downstairs, view all the artifacts and historical documents including Nitti’s safe…. Then get back out and onto the bus. That was not nearly enough time. She also said it was an opportunity to use the restroom there; had I needed to go - I would never have made it downstairs. Overall, I highly recommend this tour for families with older kids (maybe 9-10+), couples, events (bachelor party, birthday, family reunion) and even business outings!!! Such a fun afternoon.
