This was a great tour! Professor Katz did a wonderful job of humanizing the Chinatown community. While the overall subject of the tour was the 1982 garment strike and the women who carried it out, we also got a great overview of the history of the community as a whole. All of the stops on the tour were extremely interesting (and beautiful), and provided insights into the neighborhood's culture. Overall, the tour made me much more interested in the social and political history of New York's Chinese community, as well as their current struggles for respect and justice.

This was a wonderful tour that details the 1982 Garment Worker’s Strike in Chinatown. The actual story of the strike is inspiring and fascinating and has enough drama to make a great movie. In addition to actual story of the strike, Dan Katz weaves in history about New York, Chinatown, immigration, architecture, community culture and politics. He is knowledgeable, informative, interesting, warm and charming.

It was a great experience with Professor Denial Katz. I have never been in China Town before; this is a learning experience for me. I highly recommend this tour who are interested to visit China Town and interest in History. It is always fun to know places with History.
