A font of knowledge, Daniel was also very dynamic - he connected the historical stories with the buildings and the neighborhood in a delightful way.

Entertaining history - that is the best. The stories behind the statues and the buildings made the streets so much more interesting - and they took us to places I'd never have gone.

I have wanted to learn more about not just the garment strike of 20,000 Chinese women garment workers (I first learned about this history in recent years), but also more about Chinatown history. This tour was so illuminating, it made me feel so much more connected to this powerful event in NYC and labor history. Professor Dan Katz was able to show us so many important landmarks related to the strike as we walked through the neighborhoods in Chinatown where these women lived and worked. I loved this tour and would take it again!!
